20 Pounds in 13 Weeks – Week #4

The Goal and Overall Plan: Lose 20 pounds before my 35th birthday (April 9th).

I lost ZERO pounds this week. However my running total is still 4 pounds in 4 weeks. 21 pounds since I started my weight loss challenge in 2009 and 46 pounds since the day I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter.

I lost another pound an a half this week. Making it 4 pounds in 3 weeks. 21 pounds since I started my weight loss challenge in 2009 and 46 pounds since the day I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter.

Since my iPhone goes everywhere I do and I have been using some really fun applications that I feel are really helping me lose weight. Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Lose It!: I use this application to track my weight and produce the weight graph that you see above. This application also has a great food and exercise diary.
  • RunKeeper and Nike + iPod: Both these applications are great for logging your miles as you walk or run. I still have not decided which application I like best.
  • Mom Maps: Since I have been trying to walk as much as possible, I use Mom Maps to find and explore great kid friendly places.
  • iWatchr: I have often experimented with the Weight Watchers Program and I find the following application to be a lot of fun. If you are into Weight Watchers and you have a iPhone I definitely think you should check this application out.
  • iFitness, Nike Training and Playground Pump: are applications full of useful exercises. I have been using all three applications to keep my workout sessions interesting and full of variety.

The Goal and Overall Plan: Lose 20 pounds before my 35th birthday (April 9th).

I lost another pound an a half this week. Making it 2.5 pounds in 2 weeks. 19.5 pounds since I started my weight loss challenge in 2009 and 44.5 pounds since the day I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter.

I started a new routine last week that worked really well. Over the weekend I purchased 5 meals for breakfast, 5 meals for lunch, and 5 small snacks from the grocery store. I brought them all to work on Monday and stored them in the frig. This really simplified my daily routine and helped me stick to my diet.

I lost another pound this week. Making it 18 pounds since I started my weight loss challenge in 2009 and 43 pounds since the day I went to the hospital to give birth to my daughter.

Thank goodness for breastfeeding and healthy eating because I honestly have not found much time to exercise.

My Final Weight Loss Update for 2009

The Goal and Overall Plan: Lose 37 pounds before 01/01/10

  • My goal weight is 135 pounds
  • My plan was to lose 2 pounds per week
  • My daily calorie budget was 1,493 calories

In sixteen weeks I have lost 17 pounds. This is a far cry from from the 37 pounds I had hoped to lose, but that original goal might not have been that realistic. Even if I didn’t meet my goal I did accomplish a lot this year. I was 197 pounds on August 1oth when I was admitted into the hospital to give birth to my daughter.

So what now? I guess it is time to set a new goal…

I have decided I am going to go on vacation this April. Somewhere warm. I want to ring in my 35th year on this planet looking and feeling hot. That is 20 pounds in 13 weeks.
