Ivey Still Likes Ella’s Kitchen

Ivey might no longer need to eat baby food but that doesn’t seem to stop her from eating her favorite items from Ella’s Kitchen.

For example, last night while we were hanging out with our neighbors, one of the kids happened to leave their sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apple, blueberries briefly unattended – next thing I knew Ivey was helping herself to it (see picture above).

Recently they added a few new favors to their assortment and they were kind enough to send us samples of the following:

There is just something about the quality of the ingredients and the convenience of the packaging that makes Ella’s Kitchen something both Ivey and I can agree on. They taste so great that I find myself eating them as well. They are the perfect dose of healthy organic fruits and veggies! The packaging is perfect for when you running out the door plus they are MUCH better for you than a nasty V8.

Ivey Maudell is Twelve Months Old

Ivey Maudell turned twelve months old today. I can’t believe how fast time is flying. To ensure I remember all these special moments I will be taking a “birthday” picture every month for her first 24 months as well as charting her developments.

Summary of Ivey’s development this past month:

Will crawl up the stairs.
She will walk around with the aid of a walker or a single hand.
She has learned to push the buttons on the elevator.
Is presently cutting her fourth tooth.

Ivey Maudell is Eleven Months Old

Ivey Maudell turned eleven months old today. I can’t believe how fast time is flying. To ensure I remember all these special moments I will be taking a “birthday” picture every month for her first 24 months as well as charting her developments.

Summary of Ivey’s development this past month:

Will stand momentarily without support.
She will walk around for several minutes while holding on to your hands.
Will enthusiastically empty the contents of her toy chest onto the floor however she will rarely put them back.
Is willing to voluntarily let go of an object she is holding if you ask her for it nicely.
Will poke and pinch small objects.
Will attempt to scribble when given a writing instrument.
Has learned to throw her binky with incredible speed, distance and accuracy.
Loves to have her hair brushed.
Is about to cut her third tooth.

The Outtakes:

Now that we are in the “double digits” I am finding it much harder to get a picture of Ivey actually holding the numbers.

They usually end up in her mouth.

Because we only had one “1″ we thought we would use this plastic fish for the second “1″ – this was not successful and also ended up in her mouth.

Although it kinda looks like she is upset in this picture, she is actually being really goofy and over the top. She is such a cheese ball and tends to laugh hysterically after flashing this smile.

Ivey Maudell is Ten Months Old

Ivey Maudell turned ten months old today. I can’t believe how fast time is flying. To ensure I remember all these special moments I will be taking a “birthday” picture every month for her first 24 months as well as charting her developments.

Summary of Ivey’s development this past month:

Can crawl at lighting fast speeds.
She will walk around for several minutes while holding your hands.
Is constantly pointing her finger at EVERYTHING she sees.
Insists on drinking from every cup she comes across no matter who it belongs to.
Likes to tell me very long and detailed stories about her day using a language that no one can translate.
Finally has two teeth!

Besides her typical organic fruits and veggies Ivey has now eaten the following additional solids:
Eggs, cottage cheese, Saint Benoît Yogurt, hummus, chicken, and beef. She even had a little ice cream and cake at a party this month.

To be honest, I am trying my best not to serve her meat products (especially red meat) but the hubby cooked it and fed her some. I guess odoriferous poop doesn’t scare him like it does me.

The Outtakes:

At one point I resorted to sticking the numbers on the glass wall behind her. I figured this might be the only way to get the numbers to display correctly.

However, within a matter of seconds Ivey pulled the numbers off.

Ivey’s First Tooth

Just when we were going to start calling her Toothless Tirman, Ivey delivered not only one but TWO teeth. Reminding me once again that it is always better to under promise and over deliver.

Teething hasn’t put my dear little Ivey in the best of moods. She does however want to cuddle more than usual but everything else seems to just piss her off. Seriously, it was close to impossible to get her to crack a smile and show off her teeth.

After resorting to fart noises, funny voices, singing, playing music and dancing I was finally able to get a picture of Ivey’s pearly whites. Personally I think it was my dancing that did the trick.

Ivey Maudell is Nine Months Old

Ivey Maudell turned nine months old today. I can’t believe how fast time is flying. To ensure I remember all these special moments I will be taking a “birthday” picture every month for her first 24 months as well as charting her developments.

Summary of Ivey’s development this past month:

Has officially started to pull herself up to standing
She will take steps holding onto furniture or your hands
She will point and say “Mama, Dada, this, hi and doggie” although she will not always put the right name and object together
She will drink from a cup with help
She will feed herself finger food
She will use her first finger to poke or point
She will cooperate with dressing by offering a foot or an arm
Still does not have any teeth

In the last month Ivey has eaten the following new organic solids:
Cherries, Rhubarb, Mango, Watermelon, Green Beans, and Happy Baby Organic Puffs.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Ivey looked super sweet dressed head to toe in strawberry clothing. The hat was a gift from Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Mark. The jogging suit was a gift from Auntie Lindsey and Aunt Chriss.

Do you think Ivey is telling me it is time to clean the floor?

Or maybe she will just slide around on her tummy and clean it for me?

Ivey Maudell turned eight months old today. I can’t believe how fast time is flying. To ensure I remember all these special moments I will be taking a “birthday” picture every month for her first 24 months as well as charting her developments.

Summary of Ivey’s development this past month:

Has officially started to crawl
Says “Mom, Dad, this, and hi” although we are pretty sure she doesn’t know what she is saying yet
She loves to respond to music with body motion
Will clap her hands together when asked
Will prompt you to read one of her favorite books out load
Will now cooperate when being dressed by pushing her arm into her sleeve
Has started to learn that people and things exist even when she can’t see them (object permanence)
Still does not have any teeth
Finally has enough hair to sport a faux hawk

In the last month Ivey has eaten the following new organic solids:
Parsnips, Broccoli, Peaches, Strawberries, Pumpkin, Blueberries, Cauliflower, Squash and Dried Apricot.
