Post image for Ivey Still Likes Ella’s Kitchen

Ivey might no longer need to eat baby food but that doesn’t seem to stop her from eating her favorite items from Ella’s Kitchen.

For example, last night while we were hanging out with our neighbors, one of the kids happened to leave their sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apple, blueberries briefly unattended – next thing I knew Ivey was helping herself to it (see picture above).

Recently they added a few new favors to their assortment and they were kind enough to send us samples of the following:

There is just something about the quality of the ingredients and the convenience of the packaging that makes Ella’s Kitchen something both Ivey and I can agree on. They taste so great that I find myself eating them as well. They are the perfect dose of healthy organic fruits and veggies! The packaging is perfect for when you running out the door plus they are MUCH better for you than a nasty V8.

Post image for Ivey and her Super Cute Stripe Straw Sunhat

Ivey recently received several clothing items from her Great Grandma as a birthday gift. One of these items is this striped straw sunhat from Gymboree. It is currently on sale for only $6.99 and I am tempted to purchase the next size up so she can enjoy it next year as well.

Not only is it more stylish than a baseball cap but it provides better sun protection for her neck and ears.

Because it is made out of straw her head stays cool and she actually keeps it on!

Does your little peanut wear hats? If so, what are your favorites?

Post image for The Faces of Tomorrow Necklace is Perfect for EVERYONE

I have gotten a few questions about who should wear this necklace. Is it for moms? Your kids? Pets? Well the answer is- for EVERYONE (if you are willing to attach it to Scruffy’s collar!). I specifically designed this necklace to make it an easy wear for anyone who supports a good smile. Being 16 inches, it’s the perfect, versatile length.

I had a model casting… and a few of my friends and neighbors were kind enough to do a little modeling for me… here’s what came about:

How cute is this necklace on this toddler? She loved it so much she didn’t want to take it off!

Can you imagine your daughter wearing this necklace to the first day of Kindergarten? I sure can.

This necklace is still cool and hip enough for those hard to please teenagers!

And as a mom, it is also perfect for YOU. When was the last time you actually treated yourself to something special?

This necklace was specifically designed for Faces of Tomorrow and includes:

  • a sterling silver 16 inch ball chain with clasp
  • a dime sized disk hand-stamped with the word “smile.”
  • a butterfly charm to represent the transformation these surgeries provide
  • a 4mm white glass pearl bead to symbolize a pearly white smile along with several smaller seed beads to add additional detail.

This is a limited edition piece, and will only be sold from Monday, June 21 until Wednesday, June 30. This necklace sells for $40 and 100% of the proceeds will go to FOT – that’s $20 a necklace!! The proceeds go directly to the charity- OpenSky doesn’t see a dime, and I don’t see a penny- just some more happy kids on this planet!

These products are great but what I fell in love with was the packaging. I am a total sucker for beautiful blue glass bottles and old school labels.

Behind the Seams at TJ Maxx with Alison Deyette

II recently attended a “blogger junket” at TJ Maxx. Since the San Francisco TJ Maxx is less than a mile from my house I felt like it was kismet. It was held first thing in the morning (thankfully they served us coffee) and its goal was to show us why off-price retailers are a better way to shop.

While swirling my fingers along the edges of the jar to salvage any possible remains, I realized it was time to feature my favorite coconut oil as my product of the week.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to live in Bolinas. We drive there often, we walk, talk and dream about what our lives would be like if we called Bolinas home.

Product of the Week: Lola Book & Puppets

May 20, 2010

As a parent, I am always on the lookout for books and toys that share my values and depict real world scenarios in age appropriate ways. This beautifully illustrated book and puppet set are a great tool for not only raising bilingual children, but for teaching children to never settle, to take the path less [...]
