This past weekend we attended the Help a Mother Out fundraiser at Peekadoodle Kidsclub. As part of the fundraiser Wiz Bang Photography had a Photobooth set up to take pictures of the participants.
Ivey looks as fabulous (as always) but don’t her parents look like dorks?
Shortly after taking this picture I realized a sad, sad fact. This is our FIRST and ONLY family portrait. Honestly, I can’t think of a single photo with the three of us in it. How on earth did I manage to let eight months slip away without capturing ONE SINGLE family portrait? This has to be the biggest mommy blunder ever, right?
Because of this realization I want to implement a monthly family mug shot. The hubby doesn’t think it is a good idea. What do you think?

Love your 1st photo!! I am just joining the wordless wednesday world…
That’s funny Kel. We haven’t done anything formal but have a few pics of us snapped from a variety of events and family gatherings.
My sister is at the other end of the spectrum. They get pics taken (professionally) every 4-6 months.
Ivey is looking more and more like her Daddy, no?
That’s a fabulous idea, though I think it’s in the Hubby Handbook that he’s supposed to oppose to it. I’m sure it says something about them losing their man card if they willingly go along with monthly photo sessions. lol In all seriousness, those are sweet photos. Again, Ivey is a doll baby!
Thanks so much for stopping by and linking your WW post up again this week. Have a great day!

My oldest is almost 3 and my youngest 20 months and our first family photo of any kind was this past Easter!
Monthly family mug shot sounds like a great idea!!
Thanks for linking up!!
Go for it, but you don’t have to get all dolled up maybe when it’s a year, but otherwise the picture you posted here the first one is great everyone is looking sure it’s great – those are the memories you want! Love your family portrait! Following you!
My daughter is 18 months and we still don’t have a picture with the four of us. Now that really is terrible. I think you’re doing fine in that department!
no guilt necessary! my husband and i decided to not do family portraits, because we both have some really embarrassing ones from our childhoods out there. though you guys are a beautiful family…
Great pictures! It’s so hard to get yourselves out from behind the camera when you have a precious little one. Glad you did!
Cute family picture! Your blog is too cute! Happy Wednesday! !
It is hard to get those, unless you can afford pro shots or have a friend that takes pics… I was always behind the camera too… mark your calendar now
thanks for stopping by for WW!
he protests now, but in 20 years when you have all those pictures to remind you of your little girl back when she still was, i’m sure he’ll change his tune.
You were busy living life. It happens.
I think Zoe was five months old before we got a picture of all four of us.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Your little girl is just adorable! I love her big brown eyes!
It is a great photo, and hopefully the start of future family photos. You don’t want to let these times slip by, and look back and wish…
I think you all look great, but if you are like me, I never really like a picture of myself until about 10 years later, lol
I think I have one photo of all of us in it and that was back when Lil Kiwi was hmmmm 5 months old (will be 2 in June)….. Time flies and it’s hard to get all of us together or sitting still long enough… The monthly idea is great and will be nice to look back at…
yes! years later you will regret it if you don’t!
I think it’s a fantastic idea!!!! Your hubs should just get on board. That baby is going to love those family portraits in the future.
A monthly family photo session is a GREAT idea! I have tons of pictures of our kids, but not too many of all of us as a family. I’ll have to come out from behind the lens as I’m usually the one behind the camera.
Well I think it’s a cute family portrait.
THese are great pics! And yes, your little one is beautiful! I’ve been married 21 yrs and our oldest is 19. We’ve never had a professional family shot. Just a family member *might* snap a shot of us on holidays. lol.
We SO need a professional family shot!
I think the monthly mug shot is a great idea. It’s so hard to have pictures of the entire family.
I think you all look great.
She looks so cute, love the little curl of hair on top!
ahhh..i think the pic is adorable…you have been busy…prof pics are a great idea!
I think that’s a great idea! We don’t have many family portraits either. In fact, we’re getting the first one in over a year done this weekend.
Oh, Kelly, don’t feel bad. You know why? We have NEVER done a professional family photo!! I think when my sister comes and visits, I’ll have her do it..lol!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m a Bay Area gal, too!
Thanks for poppin over to my blog realm. To answer your questions, my husband and I just took turns snapping photos, but we’re getting pretty good at the tripod family photos too. You need to make sure to get yourself in photos and document YOU.
Your daughter is adorable! I love her hair!! It is important to get family photos
aww I think all of you look so cute!!
Happy WW!!
ADORABLE!
As for the family shot… It is really hard to get a family photo.. Good luck with that one!
If you are near a SEARS, go there… they have decent prices!
Thanks for stopping by!
I think a month mug shot sounds like an excellent idea. Sometimes husbands just have to go with it.
really cute
you got such a wonderful family!
I love the idea of a month family mug shot. My girls are 14 and 11 and we have very few family shots. I think the only time we pose for one is at Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I really enjoy meeting new bloggers. Your blog header is adorable!
Kelly,
It totally happens w/the pictures, but I bet you have hundreds of just your daughter. I think it is a great idea for you to take, at least, an annual family picture. Our family only took one together during Christmas because we joined a church. My challenge now is to take a picture of myself (and w/the kids) more often because I’m always behind the lens. I’m missing at least one decade of watching myself grow old gracefully through pictures. It would be nice to have for me and the children in later years.
I’m really not sure why we, mommies, always make sure our babies look well groomed and stylish and there we are walking beside them w/our sweat shirt…oh I’ve moved up to jeans (not mom jeans) wearin’ selves.
it is because of pictures are always of baby right? We did a family portrait when our son was a year old and it is one of my favorites, my kiddo is now 4.5 and we are hard pressed to get him to take a family pic so do it now
I really like the idea of a monthly family mug shot – it’s been way too long since we’ve done a family photo, because it’s always Princess Nagger at the center of the photo ops!
Love those pictures, though – and the parents don’t look quite as dorky as they could…
Happy Mother’s Day!
awww dont be sad. i dont think we have a recent family portrait either. there is always someone who has to take the picture if no one else is around!!

We have that same tea pot and it’s the perfect prop for any super adorable picture. You for sure have to make it a point to take more family pictures!
