Maternity Leave – Day 12

191 pounds (better) and 18 days until my due date.

I woke at 8am rested and ready for the day ahead. I made the bed, swiffered the floors and got myself ready. I played around on Facebook and as always lost track of time. All of the sudden, it was time for me to go. I grabbed some fruit and yogurt from the fridge and promptly headed out the door.

Today I had a playdate. I was eager to learn and embrace any tips and tricks that would help me prepare for motherhood.

Over the last several months, in preparation for my long maternity leave, I have been trying to connect (or reconnect) with people that are either pregnant or have young children. These connections have been my lifesaver.

We spent a few hours chatting, playing with her daughter and having lunch. After a few hours I left her house, full of new information but ready for a nap.

I think she was as happy to hang out me with me as I with her, but honestly, she was doing me the favor.

You can come hang out with us in Tennessee! Ben’s almost 4 months old. He’d love to give you some pointers. We’d even let you change a diaper or two. ;)

The nap – great idea. Both you and Val should get as much sleep as you can before the baby arrives.

Be smart in the nesting phase. Jen’s cleaning the day before her scheduled c-section (Ben was breech) put her into labor middle of the night…

We’re thinking about you right now – hoping all is well. You look great and sound great!
